Franklin County Memorial Hospital has an opening for a PRN (part time as needed) Registered Radiological Technologist.  The applicant must be licensed by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist and by the Mississippi Department of Health.  Must also be able to take call and work weekends.

Physical Requirements:

This position requires frequent lifting and carrying of heavy items, sometimes unassisted.  There is frequent bending, reaching, repetitive hand movements, standing, walking, squatting and sitting, and pushing and pulling throughout a regular work shift. Coordination of the hands and eyes is required for operation of all equipment in the radiology department. There will be exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, medicinal preparations and other conditions common to a clinical environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Follow HIPAA guidelines
  • Maintain current CPR certification
  • Maintain a cooperative work environment among technologists as well as patients
  • Participate in Quality Assurance
  • Maintain competency in operating equipment in the radiology department
  • Maintain competency in performing radiologic procedures
  • Ensure radiology equipment is in working order
  • Practice radiation safety
  • Communicate with Radiologist and ordering providers
  • Understand protocols of Radiologists
  • Take written and verbal orders from ordering providers
  • Operate Evident program
  • Operate PACS
  • Transportation and lifting of patients
  • Answer phone calls and communicate efficiently with the caller 
  • Maintain cleanliness of equipment
  • Monitor supplies as well as expiration dates of supplies
  • Inject iodinated contrast
  • Monitor patient reports for errors from Radiologists
  • Maintain cooperation between radiology and other departments
  • Data input of Evident and NovaRad programs
  • Perform other duties as required
